With three local offices and 550 Political Party Precinct Committee Officer positions up for election this year, the Benton County Auditor’s Office was busy as potential candidates declared their intentions to run for local office.
The next step for candidates is determining what order they will be appearing on the Primary Election ballot. All county offices except Superior Court Judges will be subject to the August Primary, which is scheduled for August 7, 2012. If unopposed, Superior Court Judges are issued a certificate of election immediately after candidate filing. Election administrators will be holding an official lot drawing on Monday, May 21st at 9:00 AM in the Benton County Courthouse. The drawing is held to determine the order in which the candidates name will appear on the ballot. Results of the lot drawing will be made available online at www.bentonelections.com.
